Srinagar: Taking strong exception to the protest demonstrations held at Srinagar’s press enclave by some ‘transporters’ against the continued strikes, Kashmir transporters Welfare Association on Thursday said the association shall abide every call given by the joint resistance leadership.
“If some transporters are facing any economic problems, they should approach the association and shouldn’t come on roads and defame the entire body of transporters,” Sheikh Mohammad Yousuf, Association’s general secretary said.
“Kashmir transporters Welfare Association is the only representative body of transporters in the Valley but there were few drivers who have held protests against continuous hartals,” Sheikh Mohammad Yousuf- association’s general secretary in a hurriedly called press conference, said. “We want to clarify that we don’t know them and we have no information about their background.”
Kashmir’s transporters will continue to abide by the programs issued by the joint resistance leadership and will accord its full support to the present ‘movement’.
Pertinently a group of people claiming to be the transporters from frontier district of Kupwara Thursday staged a protest against separatist sponsored strike outside Press Enclave Srinagar.
