Srinagar: A large procession comprising of the members of Sunni and Shia Muslim communities was taken out through the streets of the old city after Friday prayers.
According to reports, people in the unity procession raising pro-freedom slogans marched through interiors of Zadibal in Srinagar.
March was led by senior Hurriyat Conference (M) leader Masroor Abbas Ansari.
He addressed the people at the end of the march at Ghasiyar Chowk. Several other noted personalities of both the sects were part of the rally who later also address it.
Our Correspondent said the rally started soon after congregational Friday prayers ended in Zadibal and adjoining areas.
“The freedom rally doesn’t belong to a particular sect. Every person from every sect and region is seeking right to self determination,” Masroor said while addressing the rally.
