Srinagar: Kashmiri students on Tuesday hit to roads for the second consecutive day and this time students mostly girls staged protest in Ajas Bandipora in North Kashmir stating that government is using them as a shield to show the world that nothing is wrong in Kashmir Valley.
“All but 90 innocent Kashmiri people have been murdered and over 300 have been blinded. Government wants to conduct examination to give an impression that all is well in Kashmir,” the protesting students who carried placards told news agency CNS.
The students said that they won't appear in the examinations unless Kashmir issue was resolved. “We are part of Kashmir society and like others we too want resolution of Kashmir issue. How can we remain aloof and untouched from the Kashmir happenings,” they said adding that the students have decided to boycott the exams.
"Government should first stop killing, blinding and maiming innocent Kashmiri children and then they should talk about exams,” they said.
A similar protest was held in Bandipora town yesterday with students saying that they were ready to sacrifice their career for resolution of Kashmir issue.
Meanwhile, a group of Class 12th students from different colleges appealed State Government to either defer the examination or deduct the magnitude of their syllabus. “Our session started from March 2016 and from July we couldn’t attend the classes due to prevailing unrest. Government is least bothered about our education and career but it is using student community as a card so that it can give an impression to world that normalcy has returned in Valley,” the group of students told CNS.
