Srinagar: Former Union Minister and senior Congress leader, Prof. Saifuddin Soz on Saturday claimed that some Delhi based residents appreciated him for speaking right things during the presser a few days back.
In a statement issued to KNS, Soz said, “Some people from Delhi (not the politicians) phoned me during the last 2-3 days saying that all the things I had spoken in my Press-Conference on 30th August, 2016, were right except the idea of reviving the DELHI AGREEMENT of 1952. They emphasized that the clock couldn’t move backwards.”
He said that they were not serious to acknowledge that there were so many assurances on record, even in recent times, like ‘Insaniyat, Kashmiriyat and Jamhoriyat; “Sky Is The Limit Within The constitution of India; Four Corners of the Indian Constitution.”
“These people (although not diehards) were not prepared to appreciate me saying that “RSS-BJP spokesman Ram Madhav had vociferously declared only a couple of days ago, ‘Ask For The Moon, But Within The Constitution Of India’!,” he added.
He said that however, finally, they heard him saying, “I was wrong to imagine that somebody around this time in Delhi would be serious on what could fall within the four corners of the constitution.”
Soz said on the other hand, there are voices in Kashmir that clearly convey that something had been suggested by him in the said Press-Conference for which there were no takers in Kashmir.
“But, then, a feeble voice I also heard was that I should show patience as Time Is A Great Healer. May be both sides understand better, finally,” he said.
He said, “I any case, talks are good development for promoting dialogue and discussions in a democratic way. Galib’s verse came handy to me.” (KNS)
