Srinagar: Legislator Langate has accused Omar Abdullah and other mainstream parties who met President of India, of disrespecting the sentiments of Kashmiri people, ignoring historic background of J&K dispute, being apologetic towards New Delhi and caring for Delhi’s interest.
Addressing an overcrowded Press Conference in Srinagar today, Er Rashid recalled the discussions and outcome of all party meet and said that his not being part of the delegation to New-Delhi was due to the fact that Omar Abdullah and others wanted him to give up his hard stand on all issues especially seeking right to self determination.
Er Rashid said “My stand and the response of other parties has badly exposed their designs and Omar Abdullah may say billion times that he has no interest in Mehbooba Mufti’s resignation but his apologetic and confusing stand over the basic dispute of J&K is ample proof to conclude that he and others don’t want to annoy New Delhi and behind the curtains there is a dirty race going on between Omar Abdullah, Mehbooba Mufti and others in trying to prove their maximum loyalty to New Delhi’s colonial designs”. Er Rashid added he was conveyed that if he wants to be part of delegation visiting New Delhi, he will have to give up his core demand seeking Right to Self Determination, However, I made it clear that I will be the last man to give up the demand of holding plebiscite, as saying or doing so is not against the sovereignty of India and is the most civilized and just way to resolve J&K dispute. He said “I made it clear to main stream parties that It will be better for them not to befool and betray people by talking about autonomy or initiating dialogue as if they don’t believe by conviction J&K to be a dispute , there casual demands are nothing but eyewash and serving New-Delhi’s interest”.
Er Rashid said that people have a right to differ with his views and ways but nobody can force or convenience him without a logic to surrender his political commitment and added that right from the day entering into politics in 2008, I have always spoken for right to self determination in and outside assembly. He reiterated that he is firm on his stand talking to anyone on Kashmir Dispute even if it is Uday Thakrey, Hafiz Syed or someone else as he like every Kashmiri has very strong case to defend and it is only listening to others that can expose the extension wings of New Delhi, as has happened in the case of Omar Abdullah and other leaders during and after the all parties meeting.
