Anantnag: Hundreds of people in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district organized a pro-freedom Boat Rally in the river Jehlum on Wednesday. This unique protest started from Urnhal and culminated at Pazaalpora area of the district.
Witnesses told news agency CNS that people rowed the boats hundreds in numbers waving green flags and chanting pro-freedom slogans. “This is possibly the first such rally that was held in the river Jehlum. The boats were rowed by the protesting youth themselves,” said an elderly person.
Reports said that the protest rally culminated peacefully while police didn’t intervene though they were present on the banks of the Jehlum.
