SRINAGAR: Scores of Non-gazetted employees Monday staged protest against the use of pellet on protesters and hardships faced by them during office hours.
Witnesses told KNS that amid raising slogans against the use of pellets, non-gazetted staff of JVC took out procession from the hospital premises and staged sit-in at Srinagar-Muzaffarabad highway.
The protesters while condemning the thrashing of medical staff said that they are facing tremendous hardships due to the barricades erected on roads. With the barricades erected on roads, we face hardships and usually arrive too to the hospital as we are being forced to take long routes to reach to the duties, they said.
They demanded that such kind of acts should be stopped at earliest.
Protesters while condemning the civilian killings in Kashmir said that the government should immediately impose ban on use of pellet guns which damaged the eyes of more than 200 civilians. It is unfortunate that after the pellets damaged eyes of several youth across Kashmir, the youth is yet to direct the forces to stop its use, they said.
While asking the state administration to look into the issue, the protesters said that the forces should be directed to stop its use at earliest.
Meanwhile, the protesters later peacefully dispersed off and resumed their duties after police reached to the spot during the protest was ongoing outside the JVC hospital. (KNS)
