SRINAGAR: Chief Minister Ms Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday said that she was not aware about Hizb Commander Burhan Wani’s presence in the Kokernag encounter.
Talking to media after chairing the PDPs Foundation Day at party headquarters near Municipal Park here, Ms Mufti said, police and army told me that three militants were hiding inside the house (Bemdoora Village of Kokernag) but they did not know their identifications.
When asked if forces knew Burhan was present in the house, Ms Mufti said, if they (forces) knew that he (Burhan) was there then one more chance might have been given to him as situation was improving (in the state).

Protests erupted in various parts of old city on Thursday, reports said.
According the reports youth tried to stage protests against the recent killings in Kashmir but Govt forces swung into action and used force to quell them.
Youth retaliated with stones triggering clashes which were on when reports last came in.
Moreover Police raided several houses at Rampur in Chattabal area of Srinagar last mid-night and arrested at least 10 youths.
