Srinagar: Heavy rains since the wee hours of Wednesday morning caused water lodging in most parts of Srinagar including, Lal Chowk the city centre.
Director Meteorological department (MeT), Sonum Lotus has predicted more rains till Thursday. Light to moderate rains would continue to occur across the Valley till Thursday, he said.
With the incessant rains since wee hours of this morning, the roads were inundated and the drains were overflowing in Srinagar.
The various areas in Srinagar including Jawahar Nagar, Rambagh, Raj Bagh, Khanyar, Habba Kadal, Nawpora, Bemina and others are areas faced water logging.
SMC workers are already on leave following curfew for last 19 days and in many areas water has entered houses, said Manzoor-ul-Haq a resident of Hamdaniya Colony.
We are being pushed to walls due to the poor drainage system in our area, he lamented.
