Srinagar: Kashmir civil society pressure group, Kashmir Centre For Social and Developmental Studies, (KCSDS) deplored Home Ministers Srinagar visit saying it rubbed salt on the raw wounds of Kashmiris.
In a statement issued here, KCSDS said Home Minister Rajnath Singh behaved typically as a colonial lord who is least bothered by the heart rending carnage his forces have carried out of the unarmed mourners of Burhan Wani resulting in the brutal killing of 55 persons so far and blinding and crippling injuries to at least 500 youth which is a new horror created by his professional forces!
He amply showed that he is only bothered about how to control a passionate and angry resisting populace by any or all means. That is why instead of expressing remorse for the havoc his forces have wrought His crassness was apparent in his smilingly saying that he is sorry for the happenings and evaded the issue by saying that he appeals for calm to people, they said.
The civil society group said that in early 90s when youth of Kashmir resorted to armed struggle as a vehicle for compelling Indian state to grant them the right to self determination, all her machinery came into full swing to not only to crush the youth with brute force but dissuade Kashmiris from the violent path with the promise that the Delhi govt will resolve the issue once Kashmiris would fight politically.
Kashmiri youth made a paradigmatic shift to peaceful protests in 2008 but were met with the same brute force resulting in 68 killings and over 2000 critically injured persons. And in 2010 again cataclysmic protest demonstrations were responded to by excessive brute force resulting in the killings of 130 persons out of which 90 were small boys and girls legitimized under the blanket impunity provided by AFSPA. The group added.
Visit a futile exercise: Mirwaiz
Srinagar : Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said that the two-day visit by the Home Minister and his comments were insignificant.
The Mirwaiz said New Delhi’s propaganda on the Kashmir issue that the current uprising was sponsored by Pakistan “is so worn out and half-witted that it does not even warrant a response”.
He said the Kashmiri struggle for freedom like all freedom struggles in the world was both indigenous and sacred.
Adding salt to wounds
Terming the statement of Home Minister Rajnath Singh in Kashmir as absurd, Incarcerated JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik said that Singhs remarks that they want emotional relations with Kashmir is like adding salt to the wounds of Kashmiris and actually shows the callous attitude of Indian leaders towards Kashmir.
Malik, according to a party press statement issued here said that killers of more than fifty innocent Kashmiris are being dubbed as saviors by Indian leaders and their Kashmiri stooges but killers are killers and can never become saviors.
He said that some weeks before the so-called chief minister Mehbooba Mufti felt ashamed for being a Muslim as some security personal had been killed but today the killers of innocent Kashmiris are being dubbed as saviors by her.
We want to ask her that does she feel any shame for being an Indian stooge as Indian forces have killed so many innocents and taken eye sight of so many humans in Kashmir, Malik said.
