SRINAGAR: The distraught family of a Kupwara youth who was killed during the on-going uprising in the Valley Saturday demanded that chief minister should take action against the police officer for killing his son.
Abdul Rashid Dentu father of the slain youth, Bilal Ahmad Dentu of Kawari Jagarpora, Kupwara, alleged that his son went outside to buy vegetables from the market.
But unfortunately at the same time, a police officer of the district along with his party passed through the way. He stopped his vehicle and opened fire to shoot dead my son, he said.
Dentu said that no protests were going on in the area but despite that SSP Kupwara resorted to open fire on my son.
He demanded that strict action should be taken against SSP Kupwara so that he wont dare again to open fire on innocent people.
We dont want any compensation from the government but demand strict action against the culprits, he said.
The demand comes on the day when Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti visited Kupwara district to meet with the victim families.
Dentu said that Mehbooba assured him that strict action will be taken against the involved officers. (KNS)
