SRINAGAR: Deputy Chief Minister, Dr. Nirmal Singh today visited Dal lake and took stock of the de weeding work there. He said Dal Lake is a part of our heritage and we should ensure its preservation.
Commissioner Secretary Housing and Urban Development Department, Mr. Hirdesh Kumar, Vice Chairman, LAWDA Mr. Thaseen Mustafa and other senior officers accompanied him.
Dr. Singh asked officers that a mechanism should be put in place to ensure that de weeding is completed. He said officers should work in close coordination and also hold regular meetings in order to oversee the process and also get the requisite feedback from the field functionaries. He said that the government is committed to restore the pristine glory of the world famous water body.
The Deputy Chief Minister also interacted with several deputations in the area and assured them that necessary instructions have been conveyed to the concerned so that people do not face any inconvenience in getting essentials items, medicines and other related things.
He also appealed people to come forward and extend their cooperation in maintaining peace and tranquility in the State.
