Srinagar: Appealing Kashmiri youth to abstain from violence and adopt non-violent methods to press for their birth right (Plebiscite), conglomerate of Muslim organizations from Jammu, Muslim Unity Council Tuesday alleged that Right Wing Sangh Parivar wanted to create Gujrat like communal situation in Kashmir.
A battery of Muslim luminaries under the banner of MUC addressed a press conference here in Jammu that was addressed by Professor Zahoor-u-Din, Muhammad Sharif Sartaj, Advocate Jameel Kazmi, Professor Asadullah Wani, Advocate Sarfaraz Hamid, Dr Abdul Rasheed, Engineer Abdul Sattar Rather, Haji Fazil Ahmed and Haji Mushtaq Ahmed Mir.
The speakers reiterated that Kashmir is an internationally accepted dispute that needs to be resolved as per the wishes and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. We extend our full support and cooperation to the people of Kashmir in this time of grief when more than 40 innocent Kashmiri civilians have fallen prey to the bullets of Indian Armed Forces. History is testimony to this facts that all across globe people launched freedom struggles against the occupational forces but nowhere such a brute forces as we are being witnessing in Kashmir was used on the protesters, they said.
The speakers according to Kashmir based news agency CNS impressed upon the state government to stop unabated human rights violations in Valley. The brute force state is using on its own people will have serious ramifications. This is not the way to handle the situation. Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti should realize and understand that these are the same people before she begged for the votes and now she is targeting them without caring for the consequences.
The speakers urged upon the government to lift the curbs on the movement of the people. How can you cage people for days together and how can you kill protesters at will? How can you ban congregational prayers and how can you detain even those people who accompany injured in hospital ambulances. The situation is alarming and it seems that the government is on the roads to main and kill the innocent civilians, they said.
It is high time for the government to take separatist leaders who have a major say in Kashmir on board. The unrest could take a heavy toll on the students and education sector so it is necessary for the government to talk to separatist leadership of Valley.
The Jammu Muslim speakers appealed Kashmiri youth to shun violence and asked them to adopt non-violent means. You can press for your birth right (Plebiscite) through non-violent means. The violent methods give an excuse to armed force to kill you, they said and claimed that India eyes on land of Kashmir and it has no sympathy with the Kashmiri people.
The speakers also urged upon the government of India to leave its ostrich like approach and open up channels to directly talk to separatist leadership. Tourist season can be revived if separatist leaders are taken into confidence and killings are stopped. We urged upon the government to lift curfew and ban on media and restore internet and mobile services. We also appeal government to ensure safety of Kashmiri drivers in Jammu and foil the designs of communal elements who want to paint Kashmir struggle as religious. Kashmir is not religious but a political issue. Sangh Parivar is trying to communalize the situation and want to create Gujarat like situation in Jammu and Kashmir, they said.
