SRINAGAR: One person died while four others were injured in two different road accidents in North Kashmirs Uri town.
Local sources revealed to Kashmir Life that a sumo vehicle hit and killed an oldie on spot at Dawaran in Uri. The driver of the sumo-JK05A-9765-fled the spit while police have seized the vehicle.
The deceased was identified as Bashir Ahmad Awan, s/o Sabz Ali Awan (60), r/o Dawaran. The driver is absconding.
The second road mishap happened at Uranbowa last evening when a Figo which was coming back from Uri hit a couple.
The Figo was a new vehcle with Chassis no KA05MJ5831. Two persons, identified as Dilawar Lone and Gulshan Ara, r/o Ushkura Baramulla were on board the Figo.
The Figo hit the couple who were identified as Mohammad Ayub Sheikh and his wife Bano Begum. The driver lost control of the vehicle and plunged in to river Jhelum.
The four persons were shifted to Baramulla hospital wherefrom Dilawar Lone and Gulshan Ara were referred to SMHS while the couple was rushed to B&J Hospital Barzulla.
