Srinagar: Three persons were killed after a car they were travelling in met with an accident at Ramsu on Srinagar-Jammu highway on Tuesday morning.
A car bearing registration number DL4CAF-3334, en route to Srinagar overturned and skidded off the road near Panthal Bridge in Ramsu area of Jammu region at around 6:30 am and fell into a gorge.
Soon after the mishap, the police, locals, army and CRPF reached the spot and starting rescue operation, he said.
“Three persons travelling in the car died on the spot and their bodies have been retrieved by the rescue teams”, he said.
The officer identified the deceased as Imtiyaz Ahmed, son of Habibullah, Tariq Ahmad, son of Ghulam Mohammad and Sajad Ahmad, son of Abdul Gani – all residents of Nowgam Verinag in south Kashmirs Anantnag district.
Meanwhile, police has registered a case and started further investigations in this regard.
