Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Casual Daily Wagers Forum (JKCDF) along with their children Friday staged a peaceful sit-in outside the highest seat of state government here demanding regularization of their services and releasing of pending wages.
Witnesses told CNS that scores of casual workers along with their children assembled outside Civil Secretariat and organized a peaceful protest there. They were carrying placards and banners seeking justice from the government. Some of the placards and banners read: Coalition Government, i dont have fee I am casual labours child, Mehbooba Jee I am casual labours child, Please save my future.
The Forum president Sajad Ahmed Parrey told CNS that they were forced to hit to roads along with their children as the successive regimes didnt give a heed to their genuine demands.
We are facing hardships. We are unable to pay school dues. There are scores of casual labourers whose children were thrown out from the schools, he said and appealed Chief Minister to take their matter seriously and put all efforts to redress their problems. (CNS)
