Govt suspends 2 teachers posing as journalists

SRINAGAR: Two teachers were suspended on Thursday for duping general public by projecting themselves as journalists.

The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) ordered the suspension of two teachers including one Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) and one Regularized ReT teacher working in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

“Pending inquiry into their conduct, the teachers are hereby placed under suspen¬sion with immediate effort and shall remain attached in-situ,” reads the suspen¬sion order issued by DSEK.

Meanwhile, the Chief Education Officer (CEO) Baramulla has been directed to conduct an in-depth inquiry regarding the involvement in duping the general public by projecting themselves as journalists.

“Furnish the report along with the specific recommendation within 15 days,” reads the order.

The two teachers placed under suspension include Syed Tahir Bukhari (ReT) posted at Government Middle School (GMS) Kreeri bala in Zone Wagoora and Reyaz Ganai (RReT) posted at GMS Sheeri Payeen in zome Fathegarh.

Director School Education Kashmir Dr. Shah Faesal said the department had received the various complaints against these teachers who were projecting themselves as journalists and duping people. “We received certain complaints from journalists as well,” he said.

He said department is further investigating into the issue to nab the other teachers who are working in the department however indulge in duping public by projecting themselves as journalists. “Action will be taken against those teachers as well,” Dr. Faesal said.
