Srinagar:Residents of Danderkhah locality Wednesday protested against the against PHE department for failing to supply drinking water to them.
The resident in the morning staged protest and blocked Danderkhah-Batmaloo road.
The protestors said that they were not getting drinking water form a month.
We have to go to other localities to fetch water which is causing inconvenience to the people here. We are demanding redressal of the problem, said a protestor.
Residents alleged that instead of rectifying the problem Public Health Engineering (PHE) department is in deep slumber.
They said that they are facing acute water crisis in the holy month of Ramdhan which is causing enormous hardships to them.
The residents demanded that till the water supply line is restored, the PHE should supply drinking water by mobile water tanks.
When contacted the Chief Engineer PHE Division, Srinagar, Ghulam Mohammad Bhat said the grievance of the residents would be addressed soon.
One of the water supplying pipes to the area has burst due to which residents face water crisis, Bhat said
