Jammu:Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh today launched Power Development department Website to provide online access of services to the electricity consumers of Electric Maintenance and Rural Electrification Division-III.
The consumers can access to PDD Division-III through www.ed3jammu.com to avail the services including access to electricity bills and online payments. The Consumer can also manage their electricity bills by using online bill calculator available on the website.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister said that over 1.5 lakh consumers falling in the Division-III will be benefitted by the online services.
He said that website will also provide daily information to the consumers about new connections, power shutdown, outages and transformer failures in their areas. The consumers can register their complaints online and give their feedback directly to the department through departments dedicated e-mail [email protected].
The website has been designed by the Nittin Verma and Divya Gupta (Junior Engineer) under the guidance of Sanjay Sharma Executive Engineer, EMRE-III, Jammu.
The portal would also provide basic information about various energy saving techniques, safety tips and will act as a communication platform between consumes and the department.
Meanwhile, the Deputy CM also inaugurated newly constructed 10MVA, 33/11KV Receiving Station at Manda. A large number of locals and power development department functionaries were also present at the inaugural ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy CM said that the commissioning of the Receiving Station will streamline power supply to New Plot, Janipur, Sarwal, Pacca Talab, Ambphalla, Rehari, Ved Mandir and other adjoining areas.
Reiterating the commitment of government to improve the power supply scenario in the state, the Deputy CM said that main focus is being laid on improvement of Transmission and distribution network to minimize pilferage.
Temper proof distribution cables and Smart meters are being installed to curb power theft and save the state from incurring huge losses on this account, the Deputy CM asserted.
The Deputy CM also listed the projects taken up for improvement of basic amenities and promotion of tourism in Jammu city. The aim of the government is to project Jammu city as independent tourist destination and several ambitious projects have been proposed to realize this objective he said and added the ambitious project to develop Tawi riverfront on the lines of Sabarmati riverfront would prove a path breaking move in this direction.
The project envisages developing Tawi riverfront from 4th bridge to Gujjar Nagar with beautiful parks, food courts and other recreational facilities of international standard, he added.
He said in this regard the Government is soon going to sign a MoU with the agency which has developed the Sabarmati riverfront.
