SRINAGAR: Imtiyaz Ahmad was the star of the day powering his side Parvaiz Sports to a massive win over Baba Mohalla XI in the league fixture of Late GM Gilkar Memorial T-20 Cricket tournament played at Boys Higher Secondary School Bijbehara on Thurday.
It proved to be a one-sided affair with Imtiyaz making mockery of opposition bowlers amassing 133 taking just 61 balls. Thanks to batting heroics from Imtiyaz Parvaiz Sports managed a mammoth score of 267 on the board. He found an able partner in Yasir who slammed a cameo of 56 off just 25 balls.
It proved to be no show during the Baba Mohalla XI chase as their batsmen failed to make an impression under the weight of huge score. In search of big shot, they lost wickets and never looked in hunt to challenge Parvaiz Sports. They were bundled out for a paltry 120, suffering a huge defeat.
Unsurprisingly, Imtiyaz Ahmad was declared man of the match for his terrific ton.
The second match of the day was played between City Cricket Club Mattan and Coaching Centre Srinagar which latter won by comfortably.
Batting first City Cricket Club Mattan put a formidable total of 144 on the board in their allotted 20 overs.
In reply Coaching Centre Srinagar achieved the required target comfortably inside 18 overs.
For Coaching Centre Srinagar Iqbal played a sensible knock of 53 off 32 balls and down the order Nazir lone used long handle to help his side achieve the required target of 144 inside 18th over. Iqbal for his sensible bating performance was declared man of the match.
