SRINAGAR: Senior leader and PDP Chief-spokesperson, Dr Mehboob Beg Friday castigated the Unionist Opposition parties for trying to mislead the masses on issues regarding Sainik Colony, Pandit rehabilitation and Industrial policy.
Dr Beg appealed all sections of the society to refrain from falling prey to the politicization of these issues and said, the government has been unambiguous in its stand and politicization of such issues despite the clear approach of the Chief Minister was inappropriate and unfortunate.
The Sainik Colony issue is a figment of the Oppositions imagination and the government has, time and again, made things unambiguously clear and I reiterate that no non-resident of the State will be allotted any land in the State, the law as well as the governments intention on that is very clear, said Dr Beg.
Dr Beg also clarified that the government is inclined towards building mixed community colonies and not exclusive community colonies.
Dr Beg further clarified that the government was open to all kinds of suggestions and believed in taking everyone on-board before arriving at any decision.
However, there is no doubt that the government is committed towards the rehabilitation of the Kashmiri Pandits and any suggestions in this regard are most welcome, added Dr Beg.
He also said that the government was working in a very transparent manner with an endeavour to take all stake-holders along and was willing to re-look at the industrial policy, taking reason, objectivity and implementation of the plan into account.
The government, led by Ms Mehbooba Mufti is committed towards preserving the Special Status of J&K and shall govern in strict compliance with the Agenda of Alliance, let there be no doubt on that and any rumour mongering by the Opposition in this regard will be nullified by the performance of the government, said Dr Beg.
