Srinagar: The families of two incarcerated Kashmiri youth languishing in Rajhstan jail Friday appealed Peoples Democratic Party led State Government to get them shifted to Srinagar as according to these family members Rajasthan has been reeling under sweltering conditions, recording maximum temperatures on daily basis.
Lateef Ahmad Waja and Nisar Mirza both residents of Khanqa-e-Moalla area of Shaher-e-Khas of Srinagar city according to their families are languishing in Jaipur Jail on fake charges. Nisar and Lateef were arrested by Delhi Police on a fake charge of bomb blast at Lajpat Nagar in 1996. However, they were acquitted by the High Court, but were re-arrested later on another charge of Dausa blast in Jaipur.
The relatives of these two Kashmiri youth told Current News Service that being the natives of temperate zone, they are unable to tolerate the sweltering heat of Rajhstan. Their condition in jail is miserable. They are half dead and are suffering for the fault of their none, the relatives said.
The relatives appealed to international human rights organizations to impress upon India to secure the release of these innocent youth. From past 20 years they are living wretched lives inside the Indian jail which lack all kinds of basic facilities. It is our request to the State Government especially Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti who is also heading state Home Department to at least use her good offices and get these inmates shifted to Srinagar Central Jail, they said.
