Srinagar: The students as well as the staff of MPML higher Secondary Wednesday staged protest against the Education department for transferring their Principal and against the departments plan to merge the Boys school to co education.
The students assembled inside the higher secondary premises and chanted slogans against the Education department. They were demanding that their Principal should not be transferred.
While talking to KNS, the protesting students said that their Principal has streamlined the education in the school. He is very honest and has worked with dedication from day one in the school. We have gained a lot under his supervision, the students said.
They said that the transfer of the Principal has brought anger among them. The transferring order of the Principal should be stopped at earliest, the students said.
Terming the transfer of the Principal as against the aspirations of students as well as the Principal, the protesting students said that the higher officials of the Education department should thoroughly look into the issue and should stop the transfer of the Principal for the well-being of the students.
They students also said that the department is also planning to merge the Boys higher secondary to co education, which is unacceptable for them. The higher Secondary should not be merged to education, which will affect the educational career, they said.
MPML higher secondary students said that the higher ups of the department should fulfil the demands of the students for their well-being. We respect the orders or plan of the department but the orders and plans are against the aspirations of students studying in the higher secondary, the students said.
They later appealed Education Minister, Naeem Akhtar and Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK), Dr Shah Faesal to intervene into the matter and fulfil their demands at earliest. (KNS)
