ANANTNAG,: Minister for Public Works and Parliamentary Affairs, Mr. Abdul Rehman Veeri Saturday directed engineers of R&B department to start macadamization of roads across the valley vigorously keeping in view growing day temperature and conducive atmosphere.
The Minister gave these directions while kick starting macadamization of 2 roads from Dialgam-Ugjan-Kamad and Nai Basti Khanabal in Anantnag today.
Deputy Commissioner, Anantnag, Syed Abid Rashid Shah, Engineers of R&B department and other concerned senior officers were present on the occasion.
Mr. Veeri gave strict direction for maintaining quality of the macadam as per the departmental procedure and guidelines.
The Minister visited interior habitations of Khanabal area including Nathpora, Nandpora, Zadipora, Gulzarpora, Kamad and Ashajipora and took stock the problems of the locals.
Responding to the demand, Mr. Veeri directed for extension of macadamization from Kamad link to High School Kamad. He also asked for macadamization of Zadipora link road.
The Minister also visited Dailgam and inspected the site proposed for construction of Medical College of which the foundation is being laid tomorrow. He reviewed the arrangements put in place for organizing the function. He gave many directions to further improve arrangements to facilitate the people participating in the public meeting. He directed for keeping separate entrance for ladies also.
