SRINAGAR: Welcoming the Islamabads call for starting dialogue process with New Delhi on all outstanding issues between the two countries including the core issue of Kashmir, All Parties Hurriyat Conference (m) Chairperson, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Saturday urged the political leadership of India to give up stubbornness and respond to Pakistans overtures.
Speaking at a programme organised by the Jammu Kashmir Awami Action Committee, Khanyar Zone for making the Hafta-e-Shahadat programme organized to pay tributes to Mirwaiz Moulvi Farooq and Hawal Martyrs a success, the APHC-m Chairperson while paying tributes to the martyrs termed initiation of dialogue between India and Pakistan a stark reality of the times for resolving outstanding issues between the two countries.
Stressing that it was the responsibility of the Indian and Pakistani leadership to consider the problems 1.25 crore people of Jammu Kashmir were caught in, he called for putting in efforts to resolve them by taking the resistance leadership of Kashmir into confidence in order to find a dignified and a lasting solution to all outstanding issues through a result-oriented dialogue process.
By using tactics of aggression, any nations voice for its legitimate rights cant be suppressed neither can the states run away from resolving issues because the pending issues between the nations, if not resolved, pose the greatest threat to the peace and prosperity of the people, he said.
Paying glowing tributes to a known resistance and Muslim Conference leader, Abdul Salaam Dalaal on his death anniversary, Mirwaiz said, Dalaal had dedicated his entire life for a great cause and urged the young generation to carry forward the mission of these leaders by showing steadfastness.
The APHC-m Chairperson while condemning the Bangladesh governments execution of Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh chief, Motiur Rahman Nizami, said, Ulema being sending to gallows was a matter of concern and the Bangladesh government had been carrying on with this policy for quite some time now, which should be a cause of concern for the entire Muslim world.
Terming the curbs imposed on the resistance leadership by using excessive force as the worst example of state-sponsored terrorism, he said, the way the seminar organised by the Tehreek-e-Hurriyat was banned shows the undemocratic attitude of the ruling class and was an example of how it was crushing the right to freedom of expression of the people.
Authorities had banned Tehreek-e-Hurriyat seminar on May 12, 2016 as its leaders were detained and its headquarter at Hyderpora sealed.
