Srinagar: Strongly condemning the invoking of another PSA against the Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leaders Ameer Hamza Shah and Nasir Abdullah, continuous police detention of district president Kupwara Mohammad Yousuf Lone, Tehsil president Manzoor Ahmad Ganai and Molvi Abdul Ahad Sopore and not releasing of district president Islamabad Mir Hafizullah despite his PSA stay quashed, Hurriyat Conference (G) said that the Mehbooba Mufti government had started a new campaign of arrests and PSA against the Hurriyat leaders and the army and police have been given a free hand. While demanding immediate release of all the political prisoners including Masarat Alam Bhat, Abdul Gani Bhat, Hakeem Showkat, Assadullah Parray, Mehraj-ud-din Shairgujri and Zubair Ahmad Turray, Hurriyat (G) said that the sweet slogans Goli nahi Boli and Battle of Ideas of PDP had never appeared on the ground and they had surrendered all their political philosophies before the RSS for the chair of power.
In a statement issued to KNS, Hurriyat (G) spokesman Ayaz Akbar said that the International Human Rights organizations had although termed the PSA as the most cruel and Lawless Law and is reckoning the implementation of this law as the grave human rights violation but this lawless law is continuously and abundantly being used in the troubled state of Jammu & Kashmir and this law is being used as an effective tool to suppress the freedom of expression here.
He reminded that in 1978 this law was although made for the Jungle smugglers but it has always been used to suppress the political freedom of people in Jammu & Kashmir and every ruler had used this inhuman law to silence the opposition voice particularly against the pro-freedom people. This process was itself started by the late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah and today Mehbooba Mufti is following the suite.
Hurriyat spokesman said that since 1990 more than 20 thousand citizens of Jammu & Kashmir have served the detention under this black law and there are still hundreds of people languishing in Jails only because of their political ideologies.
Hurriyat (G) statement reads that the PSA of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leader Ameer Hamza Shah was termed null and void by the J & K High court on 19 April and issued his released orders but he was again slapped with another PSA after detaining him in CIK Jammu and police station Bandipora for 12 days and was sent to Udhampur district jail while as another Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leader Nasir Abdullah who is under the illegal detention from last two and a half years have been also slapped with fresh PSA and he too was moved to the Udhampur jail.
Hurriyat spokesman said that district president Kupwara Mohammad Yousuf Lone and Tehsil president Manzoor Ahmad Ganai were arrested on some unknown reasons and were detained in Sogam police station for last two weeks and after attaining bail in the FIRs they were immediately shifted to the Dragmullah police station.
Hurriyat (G) said that another Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leader and district president Islamabad Mir Hafizullah is still under the illegal detention in Srinagar central jail despite the court had quashed his PSA detention. Hurriyat Conference (G) appealed the human rights organizations to take serious notice of the conditions of the Kashmiri political prisoners and make efforts for their immediate release. (KNS)
