SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation front (JKLF) Saturday held a condolence meeting in memory of its founder member, Amanullah Khan who passed away on Tuesday in Rawalpindi.
The meeting was held at JKLF office Abi Guzar today and leaders and activists of various pro-freedom parties, social leaders, intellectuals, human rights activists, students and people from all walks of society participated in the meeting.
In a statement issued to KNS, the spokesman said that speakers while paying rich tributes to great leader said that Amanullah khan was a symbol of steadfastness, resilience, persistence and sacrifices who led this nation on all fronts including political, armed, social and diplomatic and left his mark in all these fields.
He was a great organizer, a prolific writer and speaker, a seasoned diplomat and a wise political leader. He was who started this movement and it was his efforts and leadership that brought a historical revolution in Jammu Kashmir in 1990, speakers in the meeting said.
Speakers said that Amanullahs efforts to internationalize Kashmir issue can never be ignored or over looked by anyone. His write-ups, his books, pamphlets, and columns are a good source of knowledge for new generations and will remain so in future also, speakers said.
Leaders and personalities like Amanullah Khan are rarely born. Departed leader not only played a vital role in laying the foundation of resistance movement but was instrumental in boosting this movement on global level. Amanullah was a humble Muslim, a kind human being, a prolific writer and intellectual, a fiery speaker, a teacher, a thinker and a seasoned diplomat whose absence will be felt always, speakers added.
In the end of the meeting, JKLF chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik while thanking everyone among pro- freedom parties and forums, social and religious parties and others who personally or on phone or through email or any other means expressed condolences on the sad demise of JKLF ideologue said that despite some ideological differences the way resistance camp including armed part of it unanimously showed their love and affection for Amanullah and expressed condolence at his demise is a healthy and positive sign for the freedom movement and this has once again proved that we all are one for the liberation of our land from Indian occupation.
The meeting according to the spokesman was started in the wee hours of Saturday morning while the people from all walks of life kept pouring in large numbers throughout the day.
The spokesman said that among people who were present included leaders from Hurriyat (G) Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Ghulam Nabi Sumji, Bilal Siddiqui, Meraj-Ud-din kalwal, Engineer Farooq Ahmad Khan, Ghulam Mohammad Khan Sopori, Firdous Ahmad Shah, Khawaja Firdous Ahmed Wani, Mohammad Yasin Atai, Maulvi Bashir Ahmad, Maulvi Master Bashir Ahmad, Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar, Hakim Abdul Rashid, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, BashIr Ahmad Andrabi, ISL chairman Sheikh Musaib, Hurriyat (M) leaders of Musadiq Adil, Ghulam Nabi Zaki, Javed Ahmad Mir, and Khalil Mohammad Khalil, Hurriyat JK ledaers Mohammad Mir, Muhammad Ahsan Untoo , APDP chief Mrs. Parveena Ahangar, renowned freedom fighters Mohammad Salim Nanagee, Rasikh khan, Wajahat Bashir, Gulzar Ahmed Haroon, Dr Ghulam Mohammad hubby, Abdul Samad Malla, Ghulam Nabi War, leading Religious scholars Khursheed ahmad Qanoongo, Maulana Shaukat Ahmad Keng, Moulana Riaz Ahmad Shah, Mufti Hafiz Sajad, Mushtaq Ah. Siddiqui, Mir Bashir kenth, leading employee, social and business personalities Mohammad Yasin Khan, Deen Mohammad Mattoo, Farooq Ahmad Nawaz, Zamir Ahmed Thakur, Fayaz Ahmad Sofi, Haji Bashir Ahmed Wani,M. Yunus, Professor Sheikh Ahmad, Mohammad Yaqoob Rongh , Mohammad Irshad, Bashir Ahmad kungposhetc. Deputy chairmen of the Liberation Front, Advocate Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Master Sheikh Mohammad Afzal, Mushtaq Ajmal, secretary general engineer Ghulam Rasool Dar Edhi, zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal, zonal senior vice president Mohammad Yasin Butt ,Zonal general secretary Sheikh Abdul Rashid, leaders Zahoor Ahmed Butt Mir Sirajuddin etc were also present in the meeting.
