JAMMU: Two persons died while three others sustained critical injuries when a vehicle skidded off the road and fell into deep gorge near Chilli-Pingal in Bhalessa area of district Doda today morning, reports said.
A Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK 06 -5824 was reportedly on its way from Malik Pura to Chilli, when the driver lost control at a curve near Malath village.
The vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a 200-feet deep gorge, resulting in on spot death of two passengers, including driver and serious injuries to three others.
Locals and police immediately rushed to the spot and started rescue operation, all the five passengers were evacuated from the gorge and shifted to Community Health Center Gandoh where doctors declared two of them as brought dead, said SHO Gandoh Tariq Naik.
The deceased have been identified as Mohd Tasleem son of Lassa Zarger resident of Gundow, Bhatyas and Mohd Mussa son of Mohd Yousaf resident of Baglie and those who got injured are Taiyab Hussain son of Lal Hussain resident of Chilly, Mohd Rafi son of Qasim Din resident of Baglie and Shad Ali son of Mohd Yousaf resident of Bagley.
Later, seriously injured Shad Ali was airlifted to GMC Jammu and other two were shifted to District Hospital Doda for further treatment.
