Government interfering in our religious affairs: Geelani

Srinagar:  Strongly condemning the restrictions over the funeral prayers in absentia for the late pro-freedom leader Amanullah Khan, imposing curfew in Lalchowk and adjoining areas and detention of many pro-freedom leaders and activists by the police, Chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Geelani said that the government action is not only a worst kind of state terrorism but it also amounts to direct interference into our religious affairs and it will not be tolerated in any ways.
He said that every deceased person is respected in a civilized society and his last rites aren’t bothered by anyone whatsoever differences are with him. Geelani said that the government of Jammu & Kashmir has no respect for the laws or the moral values and this state is practically ruled by the martial law. The people of this region are barred to follow their faith and even the funeral prayers are banned here. While expressing his dismay over the attitude of the PDP-BJP coalition government, Geelani said that by not allowing the funeral prayers of Amanullah Khan Sahab the government had committed a great sin which will not be forgiven by the Almighty Allah. He also strongly condemned the attitude of the state police for trying to act as more loyal than the king and said that they had established a “Gunda Raj” (hooliganism) in the state. (CNS)

‘Disallowing funeral prayers depicts Govt frustration: Aga Hasan
Srinagar:  Condemning police action for not allowing JKLF to hold funeral prayers in absentia for the great Kashmiri leader Amanullah Khan, senior Hurriyat leader and chairman Anjuman Shari Shain president Aga Syed Hasan Almosvi Alsafvi Wednesday said that such tactics on part of Indian sponsored state government amply depict their frustration.

In a statement to CNS, Aga Syed Hasan said that the detention of separatist leaders including Muhammad Yasin Malik and the JKLF activists indicate that government does not want to give space to separatist leaders and it is hell bent to suppress the voice and sentiments of the people in Kahsmir.
Paying rich tribute to Amanullah Khan, Aga Shed Hasan said that his services will be remembered for generations to come. Paying rich and glowing tributes to late JKLF patron he said that Khan was a great warrior who fought for the rights of Kashmiri people throughout his life. Khan remembered the services of late Khan and said that he will be known for his diplomatic efforts which he rendered to gather support for the resolution of Kashmir dispute.
“Amanullah Khan’s demise has created a void which is hard to fulfil,” Aga Syed Hasan said in his condolence message adding “Amanullah Khan was a polite human being, an active diplomat and a real friend of Kashmiris who had volunteered his whole life for the cause of freedom.” (CNS)

Mirwaiz Hamdani and SLF paid tribute to Amanullah Khan
Srinagar:  Jammu Kashmir Jamiat Hamdania chief Mirwaiz Reyaz Hamdani Wednesday condoled the demise of founder member of JKLF Amanullah Khan, who passed away in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, after a prolonged illness on Tuesday.
Hamdani in a condolence message said the sacrifices of Amanullah Khan for Kashmiris would be long remembered. He said Amanullah Khan was a true son of soil who did a lot for the people of Kashmir. “Whole Kashmir is in deep sorrow over his demise. Kashmir and Kashmiriyat was in the blood of Amanullah Khan,” he said in a statement to CNS.
Mirwaiz Reyaz Hamdani prayed for peace to departed soul and for the patience of the bereaved family. Meanwhile, Students Liberation Front Chairman Tahir Ahmed while condoling the demise of Amanullah Khan paid rich tribute to the departed soul. Describing him a great and sincere leader, Tahir Ahmed expressed deep sympathies with his bereaved family. (CNS)
