Srinagar: A Sarpanch of Mori Kalaroos village in north Kashmirs Kupwara district was Friday thrashed by the senior officers of the education department while the police has registered cases against them and have arrested two officers in this regard.
A Sarapanch who went to the CEO office for some pending bill issues where he was beaten ruthlessly by the senior officials of the department. Sarpanch suffered major injuries and was shifted to Srinagar hospitals for treatment, KNS reported.
The senior officials including AEE, Balbeer Singh of Baramulla, two JEs Jaffar Ahmad and Javaid Ahmad of Panzgam Kupwara and Karnah respectively thrashed Abdul Lateef Tass, son of Jalal-ud-din Tass who went to their office seeking redressal of pending bill issues.
Meanwhile, Sarpanchs of various villages including locals stage protest outside the Deputy Commissioner office Kupwara and are demanding stern action against the officials.
SSP Kupwara, Aijaz Ahmad said that a case wide no 49/2016 has been registered against the officials while two among the accused officials has been arrested. We have sent a team of police officials to arrest the third involved persons namely Javaid Ahmad and he will be also arrested soon, he said.
