Srinagar: Terming the resolution of the long-pending Kashmir issue as a pre-requisite for peace in Indo-Pak subcontinent, All Parties Hurriyat Conference (M) Chairperson, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Friday said if the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi desires to resolve all outstanding issues between the two countries through dialogue, then there is a need to have walk the talk approach and take concrete and practical measures to address and resolve the issues.
Addressing the Friday congregational prayers gathering at Jamia Masjid Srinagar in old city, Mirwaiz while commenting on the statement made by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi in Brussels in which he talked of resolving all outstanding issues through dialogue, said, APHC-m has always stood for resolving issues through parleys and that there cannot be permanent peace in the sub-continent unless the Kashmir Issue was resolved.
He, however, said, New Delhis stance in dealing with Kashmir Issue has always been aggressive with a belief in unleashing military might on the people rather than approaching it through a political dialogue. The statements of Indian leadership at the International forums about tackling the issues through dialogue were always negated by their actions on the ground.
The leadership of India and Pakistan need to devise a mechanism to initiate a dialogue process with the inclusion of true leadership of Kashmir to find a just and lasting solution to the vexed Issue of Kashmir, he said.
The APHC Chairperson said, APHC-m would extend its cooperation in all such endeavours that would be aimed at the resolution of Kashmir Issue.
The voice and rights of the people of Jammu Kashmir cannot be muzzled and suppressed and that people would strive to fight for their rights till the issue is resolved in accordance with their aspirations, he added.
Meanwhile, the APHC-m Chairperson announced that Anjuman-e-Nusrat-ul-Islam is organising a Seerat conference on April 2, 2016 Saturday at 11:00 am in the Islamia Higher Secondary School, Rajouri Kadal auditorium.
