Srinagar: Claiming the Lashkar Commander Abu Dujan was the mind behind EDI attack in Pampore, Director General Paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), K Durga Prassad Saturday said a proper strategy has been chalked out to persuade local militants to shun the path of violence.
He was speaking on the sidelines of passing out parade at RTC Humhama. He admitted that more and more youth from Kashmir have been joining militant ranks. It is a concern and we are looking at it. There have to be plans to bring them back, he said. It is a concern and it should not happen. There should be efforts to bring them back and to prevent them from treading a wrong path.
On the rise in militant attacks on CRPF, he said they are ready to fight the militants. CRPF is fully capable to deal with any situation,” he said.
We are working in coordination with Jammu and Kashmir Police to bring militancy graph down, Prasad said. There is effective coordination between police and our men. Being less in number we cant operate in isolation. It needs effective joint strategy to tackle militancy here.
Responding to a question, Prasad said the stone-pelting incidents after every gun fight in South Kashmir are unfortunate and people should understand that, we are for them and for their protection. They should not obstruct the movement and operation of security forces, he said.
