JAMMU: To mark the National Science Day one day workshop on focal theme Make in India S&T Driven Innovation, sub theme Concept of Trends and Innovations in Energy Management was organised by J&K Science and technology and Innovation council and Department of Environmental Sciences, University of Jammu .The programme was supported by National Council for Science & Technology Communication, DST, New Delhi.
Dean Students Welfare, Prof. Pankaj Srivastava was the chief guest on the occasion.
Prof. A.K. Raina, Head, Department of Environmental Sciences, University of Jammu formally welcomed the guests and introduced the theme of the workshop. He also highlighted the importance of energy management and conservation in our day to day life.
Expert lectures were delivered by M. Bhat, Department of Geology & Rector Bharderwah Campus and Majjad Farooq, Scientific Officer, Directorate of Ecology, Environment and Remote Sensing. They spoke about how science can provide simple solutions to combat climate change through management of energy resources.
The function was coordinated by Shruti Khanna, Department of S&T Innovation Council and Dr. Deepika Slathia, Department of Environmental Sciences, University of Jammu.
The programme was attended by faculty members, research scholars and students. Prof. A.K Raina, Prof. R.K. Rampal, Prof. S.P.S. Dutta, Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Dr. Meenakshi Khajuria, Dr. Arti, Dr. Sarbjeet, Dr. Madulika Bhagat, members of Directorate of Ecology, Environment and Remote Sensing and State Council were amongst others who attended the workshop.
