Srinagar: Anjuman Shari Shian head Aga Syed Hasan Almovi Alsafvi Thursday strongly condemned the harassment of Kashmiri students studying in colleges and universities outside Jammu and Kashmir. He also condemned the attack by communal elements on Kashmiri students studying at Mewar University, Rajasthan and expressed deep concern and anguish over seeking of details of Kashmiri students by the Kolkata police.
Aga Syed Hasan said that,No corner of India is safe for Kashmiris and they are being harassed everywhere in all possible ways.
He said that the harassment of Kashmiri students reflect the communal and prejudiced thinking which has no legal or moral justification. If the harassment of Kashmiri students does not stop forthwith and the government order seeking details of Valley students is not revoked, it will have a strong reaction in Kashmir, he said.
He alleged that Kashmiri children studying in different parts of India have always been targeted in a planned manner for decades and the episodes in JNU and Jadavpur universities in February this year are just an excuse to justify this harassment.
Terrorizing Kashmiri students, businessmen and others living in Indian states is not new, but since the JNU issue, this state-sponsored oppression has turned ugly and Kashmiris, especially students, are being harassed, intimidated, and the rulers are playing with their careers, Aga Syed Hasan said.
