Srinagar: Former chief minister and National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah Monday said that it was very disappointing that the Govenrment of Indian did not announce any special allocations for Jammu and Kashmir.
It is very disappointing that the Union Finance minister did not announce any special allocation for the state and especially for Kashmir, Abdullah told KNS.
People had expected that the Union Government will make some announcements for the state. Jammu and Kashmir is lagging behind economically and the union government should have announced special allocations for the state, the NC leader said.
He said that the people in the Valley are suffering after the flood in 2014. We had submitted proposal for Rs 44000 crore for flood affected people of the state, but the GoI made no headway into it, he said.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley presented his third Union Budget in which he announced a slew of schemes, and income tax exemptions to support the small tax-payer and the small investor.
