Srinagar:Candidates, who took the entrance examination for LLB course to get admission into Kashmir University, staged a protest after the university furnished wrong answer keys for the paper on its website www.kashmiruniversity.net. Aspirants objected to the incorrect answer keys and following the protest, they handed over details about errors in writing to Vice Chancellor Kashmir University.
The University of Kashmir held entrance examination for 3rd year LLB course on Wednesday.
The Law question paper alone had as many as 20 wrong questions, which was admitted by the Dean, Academic Affairs, at KU, who is responsible for the entrance examinations, which are currently going on at KU for admission to various postgraduate courses.
The question paper is full of mistakes. The key gives wrong answers for several questions. For instance, the key says Amartya Sen is the first Asian to have received the Noble prize. This is totally incorrect. Similarly the key says the capital punishment means death or life imprisonment, which is again incorrect. There are other wrong key that frustrated us. Some questions are totally incorrect and confusing for instance question number 52 of series A asks Which of the following judgments is both a crime and sin? An act or a remark can be sinful or criminal, but not a judgment. I was simply lost after reading this question. Some questions have more than one answer which is correct but the key has picked up only one, said an aspirant to CNS.
Aspirants alleged that the question paper has been set by a person who barely knows ABC about the Law subject. The only remedial measure is to conduct the exams afresh, the aspirants demanded.
Head of Department Law Faculty Muhammad Ayub said that they are examining it and will arrive a final decision in a couple of days.
Dean, Academic Affairs Muhamamd Ashraf Wani told CNS that in case students should suffer. I assure all the students through your medium that students need not to worry. I request them to give me in writing about the erroneous question paper and I will take action, Wani said. (CNS)
