Srinagar: Wildlife Department had a tough time battling with the forest fire that broke out in Social Forestry and Soil Conservation units located in the hills of SKUAST Shalimar bordering Dachigam National Park.
It took the officials more than six hours to douse the flames, however not before damaging flora in the region.
The efforts of the team lead led by the Wildlife Warden, Tahir Ahmad Shawl and Range Officer Dachigam, Suhail Ahmad Wagay and assisted by Nazir Ahmad Malik, Khursheed Ahmad Mir, Ghulam Nabi Wani and Nazir Ahmad Mir, have greatly been lauded in bringing the fires under control.
Earlier, fire had broken out in parts of Dachigam National Park, home of endangered Kashmir Stag (Hangul).
