Srinagar: Fire engulfed upper belt of forests of Gaav Nallah in Ishbar Nishat area in Srinagar Wednesday evening, police official on the spot told Kashmir Life.
The grass on the hill caught fire, which is now slowly extending its realm consuming more grass.
The fire service men have attempted to control the fire but due to tough terrain the spot could not be accesses by firemen.
The cause of the fire couldnt be ascertained immediately, the official said.
