URI: At least one hundred shops and Go-Downs were gutted in a blaze in North Kashmirs Uri.
Reports reaching here said that the fire started around 2 AM in the intervening night of 23/24 February and shops located in main market Uri including Khawaja News Agency were gutted.
Fire tenders from Baramulla, Sangrama and Sopore rushed to spot.
Eye witnesses said that the loss of property might go in to crores of rupees.
The destroyed buildings hotel included 30 year old hotel of Wathloo brothers and a medical shop.
The anguished locals said that there is only one fire service Vehicle to cater to such catastrophes in whole of the area.
