Srinagar: Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr. Farooq Ahmed Lone today convened a meeting to review the arrangements being made for Integrated Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) in the district scheduled on February 21, 2016.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Chief Medical Officer Srinagar, Sub Divisional Magistrate Srinagar, Deputy Chief Medical Officer and District Immunization Officer (Health) participated in the meeting.
Chief Medical Officer Srinagar informed the meeting that estimated population to be covered under the programme is 12,69,715 and target population of 0 to 5 year children is 1,77,765 in the district. While as 645 Pulse polio booths and 131 supervisors deployed in addition to normal staff to supervise the immunization programme. He further informed that all necessary arrangements have been put in place to make the anti-polio drive a success.
The DC Srinagar directed that all doctors shall remain present on the said day at their stations till late in evening which includes Para medical staff as well. He further directed that in addition to officers of Health Department, the ADs and Sub Divisional Magistrates shall inspect the Immunization Centres in Srinagar and monitor arrangements till successful culmination of the programme.
