JAMMU:Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly and MLA, Gandhi Nagar, Mr Kavinder Gupta today distributed cheques amounting to Rs 4.80 lakh among 40 beneficiaries under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme Swachh Bharat Abhiyan for construction of toilet units.
Speaking at a function organised in this connection at Dharap, in Gadi Garh area of Gandhi Nagar constituency, Mr. Gupta urged the people to take benefit of the welfare schemes launched by the State and the Central Government. He made a special mention of the schemes like Laadli Beti, Aasraa, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao etc.
Mr Gupta interacted with the locals and listened to their grievance
Pertaining to repair of lanes and drains, replacement of old electric wires, settlement of widow pension cases and Kissan Credit Cards, bus services from Kotli Charkan to Jeevan Nagar via Dharap, healthcare facilities and others.
Speaker said that Rs 1.70 crore has been sanctioned for the upgradation and macadamization of the road from Jeevan Nagar to Maraliyan Morh via Dharap and work will be started on the project soon. He said that Rs 40 crore is being spent for construction and upgradation of road projects in Gandhi Nagar Constituency. He said that Rs 45 lakh has been also sanctioned for construction of a community hall in village and work will start soon.
Block Development Officer, Arun Khajuria was also present on the occasion.
A free dental check up camp was also organised by the Institution of Dental Science, Sehora under the supervision of Dr Gurdeep Singh and Dr Kamaljeet Singh on the occasion.
