SRINAGAR: District Development Commissioner Srinagar Dr Farooq Ahmed Lone Thursday said that under Capital Expenditure Budget 2015-16, funds amounting to Rs 1.50 crores each have been released by the Government for various Developmental works taken up under Special Area Development Programme in 8 Assembly constitutencies of District Srinagar with a sectoral allocation of Rs 3.68 crores under R&B sector, Rs 2.46 crores under Power sector and 11.86 crores for other sectors.
DC Srinagar told CNS that besides funds amounting to Rs 7.00 crores have been released for acquisition of land and structures for some major road widening projects of Srinagar including Rs 3.00 crores for widening of Panthachowk road, Rs 2.00 crores for Parimpora-Qamarwari road and Rs 2.00 crores for SMS road and funds amounting to Rs 2.00 crores have been released for reconstruction of old gutted shrine of Dastgeer Sahib (RA). These funds are in addition to Rs 25.70 crores released under Special Area Development Programme during the current Financial Year, he said.
DC Srinagar said that funds amounting to Rs 1.71 crores have been approved for purchase of Associated Hospitals including ambulances, Anaesthesia work station, ventilators and Servo stabilizer for Cancer Hospital Kashmir Nursing Home Srinagar. For improvement of sports infrastructure in Srinagar an additional allocation of Rs 1.47 crores has also been provided under Special Area Development Programme, he said. (CNS)
