SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon convened a meeting with the officers and members the Private Schools Coordination Committee (PSCC) here today.
Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone, members of PSCC led by its president GN Var, officers from Board of School Education, Directorate of School Education, Kashmir were present in the meeting. Dr Samoon took a review of the procedures and guidelines for issuing NOCs to the private educational institutions and directed the concerned officers to streamline the process and ensure that No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) are issued in a time bound manner.
He however maintained that all guidelines and norms are strictly adhered to maintain quality of education, allied facilities and safety of students.
Divisional Commissioner also exhorted upon the managements of the private schools to take adqqauate steps to ensure safety of students and strictly adhere to guidelines set by Supreme Court in this regard.
The Divisional Commissioner directed officials to speed up the process of issuing NOCs in a time-bound manner and said the District Development Commissioners should be made nodal officers to look into such matters.
Ensure all intending schools follow the norms regarding building safety, chemical and fire safety before issuing any NOCs, Div Com impressed upon the officers.
