BARAMULLA: Police Thursday said that a notorious drug peddler has been booked under Public Safety Act (PSA) in Baramulla district of north Kashmir.
SSP Baramulla, Imtiyaz Ahmad told KNS that a few days ago police arrested a drug peddler Muhammad Altaf Hakim son of Ghulam Muhammad Hakim of Khawajabagh Baramulla.
SSP Baramulla said that PSA has also been slapped against him. More than one dozen drug peddlers have been booked under PSA so far and are languishing in different jails of Jammu and Kashmir, he told KNS.
He said that the persons involved in drug peddling will be dealt with strictly.
Meanwhile, Baramulla residents hailed the steps taken by police against menace of drug peddling in the area. (KNS)
