Aimed at making public all information related to the distribution
New Delhi – The government today launched a National Transparency Portal http://pdsportal.nic.in/ for Public Distribution System aimed at making public all information related to the distribution.
The portal has been developed with the objective of providing all PDS related information through a single platform in the public domain. The portal contains information relating to Fair Price Shops (FPSs) and ration cards attached to the FPSs, said a government statement.
The information on grain storage godowns of Food Corporation of India and state governments along with capacity utilization and data on Central Pool stocks is also published on the portal. The portal further hosts information like the monthly allocation orders, state-specific commodity sale prices, lifting position, etc. for public view.
In June this year, the government had launched a transparency portal for domestic LPG cylinders to enhance transparency, visibility and auditability of the distribution of cylinders across the country. This transparency portal is accessible to the public and shows details of all the customers of LPG who are receiving subsidised cylinders, distributor wise.
