SRINAGAR: The government will be establishing poultry markets in every districts of the state to boost the poultry rearing business, with Kupwara and Pulwama set to get new markets each by this month.
Divisional Commissioner, Dr Asgar Samoon said about the decision during a meeting with Poultry Farmers Association (PFA) here.
Director Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD), Additional Commissioner of commercial taxes, Vice president JK Bank, SKIMS representative and Drug controller were also present in the meeting.
Samoon directed CAPD Director, AR War to keep close on the rate of chicken in the market.
Poultry credit cards will be issued to the farmers. The issuance of cards has been taken into the consideration after the poultry farmers express their sufferings before the officials, he said.
They said that the authorities assured farmers that they will try to eradicate their sufferings at earliest.
Former Animal husbandry Minister, Sajad Gani Lone has already provided his vision document to the Governor and has already taken several issues with the union government.
Meanwhile, Poultry Farmers Association thanked Samoon for taking their matter into serious consideration and said that they hope the authorities will provide benefits to them at earliest. (KNS)
