SRINAGAR: District Development Commissioner Srinagar, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone on Monday visited Ziyarat of Hazrat Syed Yaqoob Sahib (RA) at Sonwar and took stock of arrangements being made by the administration for the upcoming Urs.
On the occasion, Dr. Lone directed officials to make adequate arrangements for smooth conduct of Urs. He stressed for ensuring all basic facilities including supply of drinking water, uninterrupted power, transport and parking, besides, first aid facilities for devotees expected to pay obeisance at the shrine. He instructed for maintaining cleanliness in and around the shrine.
He also interacted with officer bearers of Muslim Waqf Board and Ziyarat administration and sought details about the arrangements made for smooth and peaceful conduct of Urs Mubarak which is being observed on January 28.
The DC directed the officials of PDD to install LED lights in premises of the shrine for convenience of devotees. He was accompanied by ADC Nazir Ahmad Baba and other district officials.
