SRINAGAR: Refusing to divulge on the outcome of the meeting between the PDP President Mehbooba Mufti, senior party leader and Member Parliament, Tariq Ahmad Karra, Thursday said that PDP should tie up with secular forces or go to the people again and seek a fresh mandate.
My views on the coalition issue are well known. They dont merit any elaboration, Qarra said
The closed door meeting between the two leaders lasted for an hour implying the president is still mulling over her available options within existing numbers.
According to the sources close to Kashmir Observer, Mehbooba does not want an imprint of Rashtriya Swaymsevak Sangh (RSS) in the formation of a coalition government between BJP and PDP and therefore wants to dispense with the intermediaries like Ram Madhav and others who could influence the shape of things to come.
The sources said Mehbooba wants assurance from top Central leadership and the visit by Union Minister for Minority Affairs, Najma Heptulla, on Wednesday evening to Mehboobas residence could be a part of it, though there is no official word in this regard except, the visit was apolitical.
Earlier, Raj Nath Singh, Nitin Gadkari and Ram Madhav had visited her place to convey their condolences following her father, Mufti Mohammed Sayeeds demise.
