SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon today visited Leper Colony in Bahrar, Lal Bazar to take stock of ongoing construction work of residential houses.
During the visit, the Divisional Commissioner, was informed that out of 66 houses, 56 have been constructed, while the rest would be completed soon. He asked for the dismantling of the empty kuccha houses to pave way for the new constructions for the resident lepers.
He directed concerned officers to ensure that essential drugs are readily available at the dispensary in the colony.
Besides, he directed the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar to make proposal for construction of roads leading to the colony.
Later, the Divisional Commissioner visited the 5.4 MND capacity Sewerage Treatment Plant at Nalla Amir Khan to check its operation and maintenance.
Besides, DC Srinagar, the Divisional Commissioner was accompanied by Vice-Chairman, Lakes and Waterways Development Authority, Sarmand Hafeez.
