SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Samoon, has directed all the Deputy Commissioners of Kashmir to install biometric attendance system, to check the daily attendance of officers and officials under their jurisdiction.
A biometric machine has already been installed in the office of the Divisional Commissioner.
To maintain punctuality and work culture in government offices, various checking squads constituted by the Divisional commissioner made surprise visit of Directorate Health Services Kashmir, Assistant Director Family Welfare & MCH dept, Women Development Corporation, Directorate Social Welfare Board, Central Social Welfare Board, Deputy Chief Executive office, Khadi & Village & Industries Board, Deputy Director, ICDS, Kashmir, Manager, JK Industries, Kashmir.
During the surprise check, various officials were found on un-authorised absence from their duties and action as warranted was initiated against them.
The Divisional Commissioner has already directed Heads of Departments stationed at Srinagar to submit daily consolidated attendance reports to his office.
